Vascular disease is the single largest cause of long-term ill health and disability, impairing the quality of life for many people.
The NHS Health Check is a national screening programme to detect individuals in the 40-74 year old age range who are at risk of developing cardiovascular disease. By taking early action, you can improve your health and prevent the onset of vascular diseases.
The Health Check is a standard assessment, made up of various questions and measurements looking at:
| Age | Gender | Height |
| Weight | Body Mass Index | Smoking |
| Level of Physical Activity | Current Medication | Ethnic Background |
| Family History | Blood Pressure | |
| A simple blood test for cholesterol, and glucose (sugar) levels | ||
The health check is FREE at your place of work in March 2010
You’ll leave with a “Health Passport” detailing all your results – good to keep for future reference!
